Value-based care (VBC) is quickly becoming a key focus in the senior housing and care industry, offering significant opportunities for operators and capital providers to enhance resident care, increase revenue, and optimize operations. This course is specifically designed to help you, as a professional in the senior housing sector, understand how to implement VBC in your properties. Whether you’re an operator or a capital provider, this course will provide you with the tools and strategies needed to navigate the complexities of VBC and realize its potential benefits.

Through this course, you will learn how VBC can improve resident care, increase revenue through contractual payments, extend resident stays, and reduce avoidable move-outs. You will also explore how it enhances staff efficiency, improves retention, and positively impacts net operating income (NOI) and enterprise valuation. The course primarily focuses on Medicare VBC programs, as most senior housing residents are Medicare beneficiaries, but it will also touch on Medicaid and other state-based VBC arrangements. This course emphasizes entering into contracts with providers or payors rather than owning or partnering with a payor.
