9:00 am – 2:30 pm
*The Active Adult Boot Camp is held in conjunction with the 2025 NIC Fall Conference and is a stand-alone event, separate registration required.
Join us for NIC Academy’s first-ever Active Adult Boot Camp on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in Austin, TX. This full-day session is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the Active Adult sector, offering both foundational knowledge and hands-on learning.
The program begins with a welcome and an overview of what defines Active Adult, followed by a market overview and a case study introduction. Participants will dive into key topics such as market assessment—including demographic and psychographic trends that may encourage development—and listen to a live panel debate on operational assessment. The agenda continues with focused discussions on capital expenditures and the physical plant, marketing, sales, and lifestyle strategies.
After a break to grab lunch, a lunch speaker will provide additional insights before the session shifts to investment assessment, financing, and capitalization. The day concludes with detailed modeling instructions and a table-based analysis exercise, giving attendees the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in a collaborative setting.
Whether you’re an investor, developer, operator, or advisor, this Boot Camp will leave you better prepared to navigate the opportunities and complexities of the Active Adult market.
